Comment: Golf Park Mallorca moved back into the top 10 in 2018. It’s a course that our customers have overlooked over the last few years, however, feedback in the last quarter of 2018 was excellent, and we’re certain that this course is going to further gain in popularity during 2019.
Golf Park Mallorca Puntiró opened on the 1st of September 2006. This gently undulating parkland-style course has been beautifully crafted by architects from Nicklaus Design on an estate of around 165 acres. The design has retained many of the indigenous pine, olive and carob trees, which are a feature of this course.
The course has generous fairways, large bunkers and small greens on the par-5's. However, Golf Park Mallorca isn’t the typical Nicklaus build as many holes have natural hazards as opposed to solely bunkers. With its Bermuda grass the course has the look of a classic American-style layout.
Two enormous man-made lakes provide the backbone of Golf Park Mallorca's challenge, and two couplets of holes - the 7th and 8th, and the 15th and 16th - are the thrilling showcases to the round.
The 8th hole is 334m and the tee-shot is played directly over water to the fairway, leaving an approach of 65 to 90 metres. However, a parallel fairway has been built into the lake to the right of the green, giving you a chance to play to this slim inlet and have a shorter 30-metre chip.
The 16th is a dramatic short hole, playing 172m entirely over water to a raised and bunkered green.
Golf Park Mallorca is a par-71 course measuring 6,047m from the Championship (White) tees and of average difficulty, although it can reach high levels of difficulty from the back tees.
The practice area is superb with greens and bunkers to simulate real game conditions. The driving range is 220m long, allowing even the biggest hitters to practice comfortably. It offers 42 practice tees, 14 of which are covered and 28 uncovered.
