Son Termens Golf Course - Golf de Son Termens

Son Termens Golf Course.

Despite being one of Mallorca's more recent layouts, the course at Golf Son Termens is known for its excellent condition and idyllic hillside location, offering stunning views from vantage points along the back nine.

The only building you can see while you're out on the course is the attractive ochre Mallorcan style clubhouse, and the steady rise in the course enables you to experience stunning views across the landscape from vantage points along the back nine.

The course is in an excellent location, between the village of S'Esglaieta and the Soller Road, 10km north of Palma on the way to Valldemossa. Even the drive here is a relief from the busy motorway that circles Palma.

The course was designed by the Harris group and Jose Rodriguez, and opened in 1998. Despite its relatively young age, Son Termens is renowned for its quick, smooth greens and its magnificent condition. It's rare to find a new course built to a par of 70, but at Son Termens the designers have got it exactly right.

Birdie opportunities abound, and it's enjoyable to play a well kept course that offers a chance to score well. The par-4 1st can be driven by the long hitter, while the course's two par-5s, the 5th and 6th, are reachable by the better player in two.

But there are some demanding holes too. The 4th and 10th in particular are two punishing par-4's, played uphill to raised greens surrounded by bunkers. Both require good tee-shots if you're to reach the greens in two.

The most interesting hole at Son Termens is the par-4 2nd. A blind tee shot to a narrow fairway requires just an iron, leaving a 100-yard pitch to a green protected by water to the front and right, while a huge bunker awaits behind for the nervy golfer who hits his approach just a little too hard.

What Our Clients Say:

Son Termens Golf Course.

Fantastic location, great views, excellent greens, interesting holes all around - tight, but still OK for 20-27 handicappers. (Thought we would be daunted by the narrow fairways etc., but good fun and well laid out.) One very interesting hole with a tee to fairway, and then the pin / green quite a way off, located at right angles over a gulley! We had a really enjoyable round of golf and look forward to going there again (next year). Used buggies, which was a must as pretty hilly. Great course - highly recommended. Sep 12

The views on the back 9 are spectacular! The speed of the greens are lightning fast, but 'true', and there is a laid back atmosphere that ensures you enjoy your visit. Jun 12

The sheer panorama of many of the holes, with some tees perched high above to valleys below, made this course special. Some of the geens presented challenging putts. Super day. Will definitely go again next year. May 12

Fantastic location in the mountains with a beautiful view of Palma and the sea. The course was very challenging and in fairly good shape. Only drawback was the Pro-Shop which was very poor. Oct 11

Played it for last 7 years, and basically everyone's favourite course, given conditions and scenery. Jul 11

Tremendous views, elevated tees, best and fastest greens. Jun 11

Very tight course, but great holes with wonderful views. Excellent lunch at clubhouse - would have liked to play it again. Jun 11

Spectacular mountain views and good variety of holes. Oct 10

Very good condition; interesting holes; great views; and buggies on fairways! Oct 10

Excellent use of the existing environment in planning the course. Sep 10

The quality of the course is superb, and the layout of some of the holes makes for some very challenging golf. One thing I would say, is that anyone wanting to play it, would benefit from playing it twice. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to. It is one of the hardest courses I have ever played, and the greens were so true. Excellent. Jun 10

Relaxed attitude in the Pro-Shop and clubhouse. Condition of the course fantastic. Excellent views. Apr 10

The layout, challenges and views of the back nine really do make Son Termens special.  Having walked the course twice now, the second time with a trolley, I realise carrying is not really an option unless you are as fit as a mountain goat!!  Best value for money in a very expensive market!  Nov 09

The back 9 of this course is special. The quality of the greens and the views are spectacular. Jul 09

I've played 7 courses in Majorca now, and Son Termens still sets the standard for me. Jul 09

Consistent high quality greens and fairways. Good clubhouse overlooking course. Close fairways but some interesting holes. Apr 09

Average first 9, spectacular back 9. First class Greens. Apr 09

Picturesque views looking back to Palma. Interesting course with its ravines and gullies. Oct 07.

Nice environment, nice clubhouse, difficult holes and some easy ones as well. Oct 07.

The views. Short course but very tight. Everybody needs a buggy!! Different to other courses rather than better. Oct 07.

A picturesque yet challenging course that had something for every level of golfer. Tight in places with great risk/reward holes and tricky greens! Oct 07.

Well maintained, greens excellent. Beautiful setting with stunning views over Palma. Only a few miles out of town but really quiet and peaceful. Would certainly recommend a buggy! Sep 07.

The greens were in great condition and the course was pretty and challenging. It was not too busy which meant we were not rushing to keep up with play which was more relaxing.  Sep 07.
