Part of the d'Or Hotels group, the Punta del Mar is a 3 star hotel situated in a residential area of Santa Ponsa, close to the bay. Built in 1988 and renovated during 2004, the hotel consists of a building with 186 rooms, including 33 apartments, distributed over 7 floors. The tastefully furnished en-suite rooms have an air-conditioning / heating system (depending on the season), direct dial telephone, satellite TV, safety deposit box (available at an additional charge) and either terrace or balcony facing the sea.

Food is served in their air-conditioned restaurant and accommodation can be booked on a bed & breakfast, half board or full board basis. Room service is also available.

Leisure facilities include a swimming pool with a waterfall, a pool bar, a sun terrace with deck chairs and parasols, and pool and table tennis tables. During autumn and winter, an indoor heated pool and solarium is also available.

Other guest facilities available include a foyer with 24-hour reception service and a safe, currency exchange desk, lifts, a café, TV lounge, a games room and an internet terminal.

As for sports and entertainment, the Punta del Mar provides a programme of daytime sporting activities and during the evening the hotel usually offers live music and other entertainment several times a week.

If you simply have to have a sea-view then this hotel is a good choice as all of the rooms have a balcony or terrace which faces the sea.

Previous clients have greatly enjoyed staying here, but have commented on the distance between the hotel and the centre of the town, which is 1.5km away or about a 20 minute walk.  However 'the square' is only 0.5 km away which only takes about 6 minutes by foot.
